What if I can't get York Fibre?

For people who cannot get York Fibre we offer two other products: Full Fibre and Superfast - these are delivered across the standard national Openreach network rather than locally.

What is the difference between your products?

Our York Fibre products are delivered over CityFibre infrastructure. Our Full Fibre and Superfast products are delivered over Openreach infrastructure.

What is the contract period?

All our services are subject to a 24 month contract term.

How long will my order take to complete?

The lead time depends on whether or not you have an active service. The standard lead-time is 10 working days from the point of order.

How is the router delivered?

Routers are delivered by courier, approximately 2 days before your install date.

Does the router have a warranty?

The router remains the property of York Data Services and as such, is under warranty for the duration of your contract. If you are to cease service with us, we would require that the router is returned to us. The warranty will be void in the event damaged caused by: flood, fire, damage caused by human interference e.g broken casing, or if the casing has been opened in any way.

Can I use my own router?

We recommend using the router we provide. If you do wish to use your own router, we ask that you keep our router safe as this will be required should you experience any issues with your service, where we might ask that you connect our router to allow for us to run diagnostics on the service. We will provide you configuration information before your service goes live.

Can I place an order over the phone?

Our Sales team are more than happy to answer any questions you may have about the service, however we are unable to accept orders over the phone. Our online order form is user friendly.

Will I need to be at the property on the day of the install?

In most cases an Engineer will be required to attend your property to install your service. As such we require the person who placed the order, or a nominated adult, to be at the property on the day of the install. If you have an active service, we may be able to take over the line remotely without the need for an engineer site visit we will let you know.
